Further Update from Mr O’Neill

St Modan’s High School

Parent Update

September 14th

I am writing to reassure you that deep cleaning is continuing throughout the school following the outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting. All areas are being thoroughly cleaned in line with advice from the infection control team within NHS Forth Valley.

Public health, Stirling Council Environmental Health Department and senior staff at Stirling Council have also been involved and are satisfied that appropriate measures are being taken.

This infection is within the community at large and I would like to stress, once again, that thorough handwashing before eating and after going to the toilet is the best way of preventing the spread of the illness.

Videos on handwashing techniques continue to be shown throughout the school and a particular type of hand sanitiser, known to be more effective against this type of sickness, is also available in the school.

The situation is being closely monitored and I will be in touch again should there be any change in the position.

R O’Neill
