PARENT UPDATE – Monday September 12th 2016

PARENT LETTER – Monday September 12th 2016

Advice continues to be provided by a multi-disciplinary team comprising NHS Forth Valley, Stirling Council, the Environmental Health department and senior school staff.

A team will continue to carry out a deep clean throughout all areas of the school. With a near-full complement of staff lessons are being held as normal and after-school clubs have been re-instated.

Diarrhoea and vomiting is a common, self-limiting illness   with many cases currently affecting the community at large so it is important that pupils who feel unwell continue to be kept away from school and that those who have been ill should not return until 48 hours after symptoms disappear.

Hands should be washed thoroughly with soap and water particularly after going to the toilet and before eating. Videos of handwashing techniques are being displayed on TV screens within the school as alcohol-based hand sanitisers are not effective in dealing with this type of illness. We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will continue to issue regular updates.
